For most, the most difficult part of training is getting started, and for others, it is the mindset to keep going, especially when you don’t see the results you want as quickly as you want. It’s a no-brainer that exercise will improve both your physical and mental health. Better sleep, a reduced risk of some health conditions, and more energy are but a few perks of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. 

Either you move it or you lose it. As tempting as it is to kick off your shoes as soon as you get home from work and just sink into your couch while binge-watching your favorite series and eating your favorite snacks, the harsh reality is that if you don’t move your body, you will start to experience reduced functionality and probably gain weight in some undesirable places.

There are the obvious benefits of fitness, like a better mood, enhanced body composition, and strengthened bones, especially since we are more prone to things like osteoporosis the older we get. 

But what truly motivates me to stay fit and eat healthily is the thought of being able to run around with my unborn kids one day. Yup, I want to be an active mom. And as someone who works from home, fitness gives me an excuse to leave the house and be sociable.

So, while exercising releases endorphins, alleviates stress and anxiety, and improves your overall mental well-being, it is the thought of meeting like-minded individuals, fostering new friendships, and building support systems that gets me amped to work up a sweat. After all, I come from a very athletic and competitive family.
