Embodying something means you fully represent the essence of your thoughts, actions, and character. You live in alignment with the principles, values, or qualities that define your beliefs.
When you consider spiritual diligence, not only do we profess our faith, but we live it out every day. There is a steadfast commitment to strengthening your relationship with God.
Either way, the goal is to live virtuously and righteously and to honor God with your life. Often, when we think or speak of a godly woman, what comes to mind is Proverbs 31.
A wife of noble character, who can find her? She is worth far more than rubies… She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs 31:1; 25
Not only does she possess the fruits of the spirit, but the Proverbs describe her discipline, perseverance, and willingness to surrender her will to God’s divine guidance, trusting in His wisdom and sovereignty as noble.
She almost sounds unrealistic, but she is evidence that if you make a conscious effort to prioritize your spiritual growth and development, you can become her. After all, she lacks nothing and brings good all the days of her life.
So, how can you become a diligent woman of God, and why should we all strive to be like her?
There Is Freedom In Living Authentically
Godly women are authentic in their faith and their values. They live with sincerity, integrity, and intentionality. Imagine for a second that you had unwavering faith and decided to trust in God’s plan to navigate life’s challenges. How much more confident and resilient do you think you would be?
Think about the freedom you would have if you relied on Him. Instead of trying to fight your battles with your own strength, you could fight them with the strength of God. Isaiah 40:29 tells us, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
She Acts With Selfless Obedience
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. John 14:23
A godly woman surrenders her desires, ambitions, and will to align with God’s commands. Our obedience is a demonstration of our love for God.
To be selfless means to sacrifice, giving up comfort and conveniences. To be selfless means to trust that what God commands is for our benefit, contrary to our immediate interests. To be selfless means to submit and trust that God knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and not harm us – Jeremiah 29:11.
Ultimately, a godly woman understands that obedience is rooted in love. An immense response to God’s faithful love for us.
She Has A Clear Sense of Purpose
A godly woman seeks to glorify God in all she does and makes a positive impact on the world. She exhibits humility and grace in her interactions with others. She does not seek recognition or praise for her actions. Instead, she serves humbly and exemplifies the teachings of Christ.
Have you ever walked past a woman who exuded confidence and power? They would be radiant and shine brightly. They may not say much, but when you are in their presence, you can feel peace. It is their joy for serving the Lord that makes them attractive.
They are filled with a spirit of humility and grace, and it’s because of their deep love relationship with God that their beauty is reflected as light into the lives of others, offering hope, encouragement, and inspiration. People who seek their counsel know that God is the source of their wisdom.
She Is In Constant Communion With God
A godly woman is prayerful. Prayer is the cornerstone of your relationship with God. It can sometimes be difficult to prioritize amidst day-to-day life, but when you fully commit to regular communication with God, you will begin to see how transformative His power is.
A diligent woman of God acknowledges her dependence on God for strength, guidance, and provision. His power is boundless, and His grace is immeasurable. Her prayer life is not just about speaking; she listens too. And with the help of the Holy Spirit, she sees God’s hand at work in answered prayers and circumstances.
You see, people may tell you that you will suffer on account of the gospel. And this is true. Jesus confirms this in scripture.
“I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:22
But a godly woman knows that the suffering is not permanent. Suffering turns the focus inward, and God is always trying to make us better people. A diligent woman of God is a helper. She is reliable and trustworthy and knows what her actions mean to others. And although this may seem like a lot, know that your present suffering cannot compare to the glory that will be revealed – Romans 8:18.
If you were to become a diligent woman of God, you would live with purpose, strength, peace, and joy in this life’s journey.
